Mr Chips can be found along the Quay opposite the river. It has a restaurant and a seperate take away section. It is opened at lunchtime and again at 4.30pm.
The restaurant is very clean and tidy and prices are fairly reasonable but quite a bit more than if you take away. The menu has everything you usually find in a chip shop - fish and chips, chicken and chips etc and there is also a childrens menu.
The take away has reasonable prices but sometimes the portions can be a bit on the small side. The staff can come across as not very friendly but thats often because they are rushed off their feet.
The food is nice enough and does seem to taste better in the restaurant - even though its the same food as in the take away! -

I live in the US now and I am visiting my parents who now live in the area. Our Canadian family is in town and we wanted to get them a nice fish and chip meal.
It's been a little while but the fish here although was freshly cooked wasn't coordinated with our order of chips. The fish they had cooked and ready and sitting on the top wrapped up for a few minutes waiting for the chips because by the time the fish was cooked, there were no cooked chips left in the tray to serve up. Our fish waited for the chips, when the chips finally came we were handed them pretty quick but by the time we got them home the fish was disappointingly a little cold.
Aside from that, it tasted good however the fish I had was a little boney. Overall this place is set up for speed as much as possible but needs a little more coordination on serving to maximise the quality of the meal. -

Average chips. The fish was bony. There are better options
Dining area is a nice touch if you don't fancy a take away. Don't expect anything other than simple service. It at least came with a smile.
